Prokritee, established in 2008, is a leading fair trade organization in Bangladesh that empowers 2,906 artisans, primarily women, by providing sustainable livelihoods through handmade products. Our diverse product line includes baskets, birdhouses, handmade paper, Christmas decorations, bags, bathmats, and blankets, all crafted from locally sourced materials. With 10 production units and 19 partner organizations across various regions of Bangladesh, we export 83% of our production to international markets, while 17% is sold locally.

Prokritee was formed in 2001 as part of the MCC Bangladesh initiative and became an independent entity in 2003. We received our Not-for-Profit license in 2008 and have since grown to support artisans in rural communities, promoting fair wages and social inclusion. Our commitment to sustainability and ethical production practices has helped us establish a global presence, ensuring our products meet international standards while preserving traditional skills.
