About ECOTA

We are the leading fair trade network in Bangladesh.

ECOTA Story

ECOTA Fair Trade Forum is Bangladesh’s leading network for NGOs and SMEs in fair trade. Established in 1990, it connects 62 craft-producing organizations, representing 150,000 artisans, 80% of whom are women. ECOTA promotes fair wages, safe working conditions, and sustainable practices, linking local producers with international markets through its affiliation with the World Fair Trade Organization. ECOTA advocates for ethical production and policy reforms to support marginalized communities. It has empowered rural artisans, preserved traditional crafts, and brought Bangladeshi handicrafts to global markets, with a focus on women and disadvantaged groups.
