Shah Abdus Salam holds a Master's degree in Sociology from Dhaka University and brings 31 years of experience in community development, fair trade, and social work across Bangladesh and South East Asia. He has worked with notable organizations like BRAC, CARE-Bangladesh, and the UNDP. In 1996, he founded Development Wheel (DEW) and DEW Crafts, focusing on empowering marginalized communities. He remains an active member of various national and international development networks, including the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) and ECOTA.
Shahid Hussain Shamim holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Chittagong. Passionate about supporting artisans, he founded PRABARTANA in 1989, a renowned fair trade store connecting designers and consumers with skilled handweavers in Bangladesh. With decades of experience in craft promotion and product development, Shamim has played a key role in reviving traditional designs. He is also a pioneer of Community-Based Tourism in Bangladesh and has been involved with UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage program since 2013.
