Kumudini Handicrafts

Founded with the aim of supporting Bangladesh’s fine arts and traditional cottage industries, Kumudini Handicrafts has become a leader in high-quality handicrafts for both local and international markets, with the UK and Japan as key export destinations. Kumudini is committed to empowering rural women by creating economic opportunities, thus enhancing their social standing within their families and communities. Approximately 20,000 women are engaged with the project, either directly or indirectly, and are trained by Kumudini, allowing them the flexibility to work from home.
Kumudini Handicrafts is known for its distinctive use of cotton, silk, and vibrant vegetable dyes, as well as its Nakshi Kantha sarees made from cotton, muslin, and half-silk. Additionally, the organization offers various household products, ceramics, and jewelry.
