ECOTA
NATIONAL FAIR TRADE NETWORK OF BANGLADESH

About ECOTA

ECOTA-Forum was founded in 1990 in Dhaka, it was created by national and international organizations to improve incomes and fair trade access for Bangladeshi producers. Initially focused on supporting local artisans from marginalized communities, ECOTA promoted fair wages, safe conditions, and sustainable practices. Quickly becoming a central fair trade hub, ECOTA connected producers with global markets and established high ethical standards as a World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) member. Today, with over 62 member organizations, ECOTA continues to empower artisans, particularly women, by promoting sustainable livelihoods and advocating for fair trade policies, bringing Bangladeshi handicrafts to the global market.
